Green Day dropped a new single and video for “The American Dream Is Killing Me.” It’s the first track from their upcoming album Saviors, set for release on January 19. The black and white music video features the band in character… as zombies.
Members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool first performed the new song during a sold-out, surprise concert in Los Angeles last weekend. It was one of the last to be written and recorded for the new project.
Armstrong describes it as “a look at the way the traditional American Dream doesn’t work for a lot of people. In fact, it’s hurting a lot of people.”
When the album comes out, it will be available in several exclusive vinyl versions, including neon pink with neon green splatter.
