Def Leppard Guitarist Phil Collen Opens Up About Hitting The Stage With His Bandmates

Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen has spoken out about what's on his mind when he hits the stage with his bandmates.

During a recent interview with Rolling Stone En Español, Collen revealed that he doesn't get stage fright.

He explained, "Everyone in the band has a different approach. I always say I never get stage fright — never… I enjoy it — absolutely — but it's almost like an avatar goes on stage. If I've rehearsed and my voice is good and the guitar playing is enough and I'm in shape enough, there's a confidence that the avatar just takes over. So I can actually enjoy it in a different way."

Collen continued, "Everyone in the band has a different approach.

Def Leppard and Motley Crue's coheadlining "The World Tour" will hit Latin America and Europe before it's trek in the U.S., which starts in Syracuse, New York on August 5th.
