Steve Perry has rolled out "Most Of All" — the stripped back single from his upcoming album, Traces: Alternate Versions And Sketches, set for release on December 4th. As the former-Journey frontman had previously stated, the new set "(Is) eight songs from the Traces record done acoustically and I’m really pleased with the sonics and I’m really pleased with the simplicity of the song and the lyric and the chords, which is basically what it’s stripped down to."

Perry told Rolling Stone he was inspired to commit to being an artist again by writing and recording his first music in 24 years after the 2102 death of his Kelly Nash to breast cancer. He explained, "I made a promise to her that I would not go back into hibernation. If something was going to happen to her, she asked that I wouldn’t do that because she felt it would make everything for naught. Those were her words. I kept that promise."

Perry, who turns 72 in January hinted at more new music to come: "The acoustic Traces is going to close the Traces chapter. Then I’m opening up another chapter next year at some point."

It was a long time coming, but Steve Perry told us feels as though he's gotten a second wind as a writer and a performer: ["It's scary, because I just told management the other day — 'I want you to look at me like a guy who has the passion of a young, young man for music, but he's no spring chicken. His body is kinda not young (laughs) — he's kinda gettin' up there. And it hurts occasionally.' Believe me. I feel emotionally and musically — more important than anything — more than anything, I feel like I'm in my 20's. I don't know what happened. I think I'm rejuvenated. . .  And by the way, the music I've listened to while I've been gone has been part of an educational, emotional connection, too."] SOUNDCUE (:35 OC emotional connection too)
