Mitzi Kaye Merritt, 67, of Trenton, GA passed away peacefully on Friday, June 17, 2022. Mitzi was born November 14, 1954 in Flat Rock, AL to the late Alvin and Ollie Mae Gass. She retired after a long career as a Registered Nurse. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, cousin and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Steven Merritt; son, Tillman Merritt; brothers, Danny Gass and Jimmy Kessler; and sister, Frieda Johnson.

Left to cherish her memories are daughter, Summer (Eric) Morgan; sister, Rhonda (Raymond) Higginbotham; and grandchildren, Anniston Hosea, Zariah Hughes and Kiera Hughes.

Funeral services will be held at Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, GA on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM ET with Brother Tran Sisk officiating. She will be laid to rest at Brown Gap Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 20, 2022 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Tuesday from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
