Mrs. Ross was born on August 21, 1925 to the late Arvilla Perry & Charles Douglas Lankford in Tracy City, TN. She graduated from Grundy County High School in 1943 & Middle Tennessee State University in 1964. She retired from the Dade County School System following 33 years of service. Mrs. Ross held memberships with Trenton United Methodist Church, Retired Teacher Association, N.E.A., D.E.A., & G.A.E. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, friend & devoted teacher and was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred Thomas & Lee Doug Ross, son, Fred Douglas Thomas, daughter, Darlene Austin, sister, Adele Payne, brother, C.R. Lankford, sons-in-law, Robert Taylor & Dale Hooks, daughter-in-law, Carol Thomas, & great-grandson, Little Rob Taylor. She will be greatly missed by all.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Brenda (Glen) Levan, Winter Haven, FL, Bobbie Taylor, Cartersville, GA, Rosemary (Ricky) Stephens, Trenton, GA, Fred Thomas, Trenton, GA, Buntie Hooks, Waycross, GA, Valerie Ross, Chattanooga, TN, Chuck Ross, TX, John (Jen) Ross, Battle Ground, WA; son-in-law, David Austin, Ringgold, GA; adopted brother & sister, Buddy & Teresa Wiggins, Tracy City, TN; 26 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren; devoted sitter, Sharon Brodie, Ringgold, GA;
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike King officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.
