Mabel Nash Welden, age 96, of Bryant, AL passed away peacefully on May 17, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home at 5:00 PM ET on Saturday, May 20, 2023, with Brother Nellon Smith and Brother Dean Sims officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 4:00-8:00 PM ET and on Saturday from 1:00 PM ET until the funeral hour.

Born in Dutton, Alabama, she was a resident of Bryant, Alabama for eighty years where she and her husband, Andrew, owned and operated Welden’s General Mercantile.

Mabel was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Andrew Welden; parents, Burla and Edna Nash; brothers, Manuel, Harmon, James, Billy, and Palmer Nash; sister, Vina Bowen.

Survivors include her two sons, David (Doris) Welden and Lynn Welden of Bryant, AL; sisters, Hilda Kinsey and Nelda (Raymond) Long; brother, Charles (Peggy) Nash; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Nash and Virginia Nash; grandchildren, Tyson Welden, Jerell Peek, and Jared Welden; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.

Mabel will be laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery in Bryant, AL.
