Born on July 9, 1948 to Noah and Edith Smith West, Kenny was a cherished son, a loving brother to his siblings, and a friend to all who came to know him. Over time, he also embraced the roles of a loving husband and father which he valued dearly. Kenny had retired from TVA and served in the U.S. Army as a Vietnam Veteran. Alongside these commitments, he found joy in church activities and farming. Additionally, Kenny was an ardent fan of Alabama football and possessed great talent in playing softball. He was a member of White Oak Baptist Church, American Legion Post #106, and NSM Masonic Lodge #920.
Left to treasure his memory are his wife and best friend of 21 years, Denica Brown West; brother, Ralph (Gail) West; his three sons, Kevin, Adam and Cody West; grandchildren, Bailey West Farmer and Kristen West; sisters-in-law, Kathy and Shirley West; and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe, JD, and Rayburn West; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce (Bryan) Roddy; and his sister-in-law, Pat West, who lovingly took on the role of a mother figure in his life.
For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed at www.discoverdade.com/moorestream.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Hearth Hospice and to family and friends for the prayers, food brought, and love they have shown during Kenny’s final days.
