Jimmy Hurst, 64, of Ider, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
Jimmy was retired from Synthetic Industries following 25 years of dedicated service. Better known as Papaw, he was an avid fisherman, a hard worker, great brother, dad, & best friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew & Mary Lee Holland Hurst & his aunt who took him in and raised him, Nanny.
Survivors include his children, Amanda (Will) Williams, Chad (Emily) Hurst, Brad (Cori) Hurst, & Brandon Hurst; grandchildren, Veronica (Ian) Peoples, Kindra (Taylor) Farmer, Carmon Farmer, Pheonix Hurst, Brooklynn Hurst, Addison Hurst, & Cayden Hurst; great-grandchildren, Rylee Peoples, & Zachary Gordy; siblings, Kelsey (Sharon) Hurst, Glenda “Sissy” (Ronald) Swader, Ricky Hurst, & Janie Crane; a host of nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 17th at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Anthony Disheroon officiating. Interment will follow in Ford Cemetery.
