Hazel Ruth McDowell, age 84, of Higdon, AL passed away at her home Saturday April 30, 2022 surrounded by her family. Mrs. McDowell was a Homemaker and a member of Magby Gap Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dickey McDowell, Parents Harvey and Mae Lucy Manning Atkins, son Marty McDowell, grandson Jonathan McDowell.

Surviving include her children Janice Lance of Tellico Plains, TN; Jeannie (Gleason) Gass of Higdon, AL; Angelica Patterson of Scottsboro, AL; and Michael (Nikki) McDowell of Higdon, AL; Grandchildren Tony Lance, Rodney Lance, Kimberly Lance, Amanda Jones, Daniel Gass, Adam McDowell, Nathan McDowell, Jonathan Smith, Winoa Cornett, Christina Cornett, Garrett Patterson, and Carly Patterson; 18 Great-Grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 3PM Monday May 2, 2022 in the chapel with Minister Gary McDade officiating. Interment will follow in Payne Gap Cemetery. Family will receive friends Sunday 4 PM until 8 PM and Monday 1 PM util the service hour at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, GA.
