Dorothy Jean Taylor Johnson, 85, of Trenton, GA, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at her home.
Dorothy was born on June 28, 1937 in Marshall County, Alabama to the late Burton S. & Mary (Bower) Taylor. Loving life and people, she was always happy to talk or say hello to anyone. Along with her late husband, Lester, she enjoyed working on the farm and canning everything they grew, sharing with the neighbors, friends, and family. Cakes, pies, soups and her famous peanut brittle was enjoyed by many. Dorothy loved her Lord and was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she could be found washing dishes after every social event. She loved her animals and took care of many cats and dogs that people would drop off at the farm. Her family was her pride and joy and she delighted in making things for all of them. She will be missed greatly by those who knew her, especially her friends and family. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her sisters, Irene Cartin, & Louise (Bobby) Shultz, brothers, Virgil (Frances) Taylor, & Jack Taylor, and two unseen grandbabies who are now sitting in her lap in heaven.
