Christopher “Chris” Greene, age 54, of Trenton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 15, 2023.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home on Saturday, May 20, 2023 with Bro. Alan Flowers officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM ET until the service hour at 2:00 PM ET on Saturday.

Chris was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on March 24, 1969, to the late Larry & Joyce Greene and has resided in Dade County for most of his life. He was a 1987 graduate of Northwest Georgia High School. In furthering his education, Chris attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and is a proud member of the Sigma-Chi Fraternity. He later attended and received his Masters degree in Biology from Jacksonville State University in Alabama. In the Fall of 2022, Chris retired from the Dade County School System and had fulfilled many roles including: coaching, teaching biology and was dubbed as “The Scientist” by his nephew, Michael Greene. Chris also served as Director of Technology towards the end of his career.

Chris attended Trenton United Methodist Church and enjoyed hiking, exercising, traveling, cooking BBQ ribs in his Big Green Egg and was known as a coffee connoisseur.  He was a die-hard Alabama fan and loved traveling to Tuscaloosa to attend as many games as possible. Chris will forever be known as a kind, compassionate and motivated person. His legacy will certainly live on in the hearts of those who knew him best.

In addition to his parents, Chris is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Buck and Lesie Greene.

Chris is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Jan Greene; their fur babies, Sandy and Zaius; brother, Chip (Kimberly) Greene; nieces and nephew, Michael Greene, Emily Greene, Heidi Hicks, and Ashley & Allison Thompson.

Chris will be laid to rest at Hooker Cemetery in Wildwood, Georgia.
