Charles Alfred “Al” Downer, 71, of Bryant, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at his residence.

Al was a truck driver for Bowman Truck Lines for 20 years and then became the owner and operator of A&W Heating & Air in Bryant for 20 years. Mr. Downer was preceded in death by his daughter, Kristy Downer, son, Kyle Downer, parents, Aubrey & Estell Downer, & brother, Elvin Downer.

Survivors include his companion, Thelma Sean Belue of Bryant; sons, Tyler & Blake Downer of Murfreesboro, TN; sisters and brothers-in-law, Verna & Glenn Bailey of Lookout Valley, TN, Glenda & Bernard Peek of Rising Fawn, GA, Brenda Tinker of Rising Fawn, GA, & Phyllis McClure of Trenton, GA; several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 9th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bryant, AL.
