Brian Jay Smith
March 22, 1972 - January 6, 2023
Brian Jay Smith, 50, of Wildwood, GA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 6, 2023. He was born March 22, 1972 to Beula “Bea” Smith and the late, Roger J. Smith.

Brian was a devoted husband, loving father, doting grand dad, caring son, and friend to all who knew him. The meaning of his name suits him well: strong, virtuous and honorable. These traits defined his faith, work ethic, and hobbies. His smile was contagious, filling every room with laughter. His kind, genuinely caring, and warm spirit, met no stranger. He loved to fish, as he would say, “Catching a sunrise.” Walks on the beach and mountain roads were some of his favorites. Brian had a unique gift to care for people who needed it most. Whether he trimmed trees for elderly, bought groceries for the hungry, or was sending an encouraging text he did it all selflessly, as a ministry unto his Lord. He embodied the self-sacrificing, godly love of
1 Corinthians 13:13, “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” Brian was a beloved member of LaFayette Church of God; LaFayette, GA.

Left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Angela Kay Smith; sons, Michael “Colten” (Kristin) Gass, Matthew “Calum” (Eric) Gass, and Zackary Brian Smith; daughter, Kayla Hope Worley; grandson, Shane Gass; granddaughter, Macey Gass; mother, Bea Smith; brother, Kevin (Stephanie) Smith; sister, Amanda (DJ) Smith; many nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life Funeral will be held Monday, January 16, 2023 at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Josh Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Sarah Chapel Cemetery in Trenton, with family and friends serving as casket bearers.
