Aubrey Warren (Buddy) McKenzieTrenton, GA

January 22, 1938 - April 4, 2022
Buddy was born on Jan. 22, 1938, in Kopperl, Texas, to the late Aubry and Naomi McKenzie, and grew up in Dutton, Ala. He was a retired master welder and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was also a longtime member of the Trenton Church of Christ, where he served as an elder, deacon and Bible study teacher. It was at a Bible study at the Trenton congregation that he met his future wife, Sorita Ellen Wheeler. They were married on June 15, 1969.
Buddy was a jolly and witty soul who always loved to tell a good joke. He was a gifted craftsman and a talented photographer. He loved red Chevy trucks, McDonald’s hamburgers, Coca-Cola and Alabama Crimson Tide football.
But the center of his life was his family and his deep Christian faith. Buddy’s loved ones will remember him for his kindness, compassion and his strong yet gentle spirit.
In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his son, Patrick McKenzie, and his brother, Danny McKenzie.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Sorita McKenzie; son, Michael McKenzie; grandchildren, Ben and Ella McKenzie; daughter-in-law, Amanda McKenzie; brother, James (Joyce) McKenzie; sister, Brenda (Terry) Hamlin; and several nieces and nephews.
