Sheriff’s Office Assist Drug Task Force and US Marshals in Trenton Arrest: High School Briefly Locked Down for Safety

DCSO Deputies, alongside Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force Agents, joined forces with the US Marshals Service earlier today to execute an arrest warrant in Trenton, Dade County. The operation took place in close proximity to Dade County High School, prompting Sheriff Cross to swiftly notify the high school principal and superintendent prior to commencement.

In a proactive measure, law enforcement and school administrators decided to implement a SOFT lockdown at the high school to ensure the safety of students and staff. The suspect was successfully apprehended, and the lockdown was lifted after approximately 15 minutes.

Sheriff Cross emphasized the importance of collaboration with the school system and the wider community in maintaining safety. “We’re always happy to work closely with the school system, as well as the rest of our community. This operation today illustrated the cooperation that we utilize daily with our schools, and we’ll continue to do so for as long as possible. We all have the same goal, and that’s keeping the children and our community safe!”

Superintendent Ingle expressed gratitude towards the Dade County Sheriff’s Office for their cooperation and dedication to prioritizing the safety of students, staff, and the community at large.
