A DeKalb County man has been arrested following an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a minor.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), the case originated on June 23, 2025, when authorities were notified of a juvenile from Madison County who was reportedly assaulted in DeKalb County.
After gathering evidence and conducting multiple interviews, investigators obtained an arrest warrant on June 25 for Gerardo Duran Dumas. He was later taken into custody and booked into the DeKalb County Detention Center.
Dumas is charged with Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a Class C felony in Alabama.
The investigation is ongoing.
