Dade Leads Region with Lowest Unemployment Rate


Dade returns to lead the region with the lowest unemployment rate for September.

Unemployment rates for September were released by the Georgia Department of Labor and Dade dropped .1% bringing the county into the lead for the 15-county Northwest Georgia Region. In August, Dade and Fannin County tied for lowest with an unemployment rate of 3.3%, lower than pre-COVID unemployment rates in March. Fannin held at 3.3% for September , following closely behind Dade. 

Catoosa ended the month with an unemployment rate of 3.6%, Walker at 4%, Whitfield at 5%, and Chattooga at 6.5%.
