Core Calls for Mild Friday to Give Way to Several Inches of Snow Saturday

A mild Friday with temperatures into the 60s will give way to an “epic” storm system, according to Chief Meteorologist Patrick Core’s Friday Morning Weather Discussion. Core suggests that as much weekend errands that need to be run are done on Friday, before the system comes through.

Late Friday night, everything should stay above freezing until nearly 11:00; then everything will change suddenly. Starting with showers, between midnight to early AM they’ll change to snow. Models are confident that this will be an accumulating, heavy snow. Most valley areas will see 1″-3″, and mountain areas could see 3″-6″ accumulations.
