George McCarty

RISING FAWN — Georg Leland “Buddy” McCarty, 73, passed away Friday, March 5, 2010.

He was a retired truck driver from McKee Bakery, a tour bus driver for D & L Charter Tours and C & A Charter Tours.

Buddy served in the United States Navy, he enjoyed the outdoors and was a member of New Vision Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, E.O. and Myrtle McCarty; wives, Stella McCarty and Joann McCarty.

Survivors include his wife, Patrice McCarty; daughter, Ramona Morton and step-daughter, Melissa White; son, Ricky McCarty and step-son, Troy and Cindy Lawson; one sister, Connie Pierce; three special friends, Cecil Morgan, Don Lowery, and Howard Massey; 13 granddaughters, and two great-granddaughters.

Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. EST today, March 8, 2010, with Brother Dean Sims and Brother Billy Smith officiating.

Interment with military honors will be held 11 a.m. EST Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Visitation will be held today, 2-8 p.m.

Arrangements are by Moore Funeral Home, Trenton, Georgia.

Troy Williams, JR.

TRENTON-- Troy Williams, Jr., age 13, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010. He was an eighth grade student at Dade Middle School and was a member of the basketball and cross country teams. He was a member of the Dade County Recreation football and baseball teams. Troy was a member of Trenton First Baptist Church and active in the youth department.
Survivors include his parents, Troy and Terri Williams; sister, Megan Nicole Williams; paternal grandparents, James C. and Charlotte Williams, Patricia and Stan Catlin; maternal grandparents, Charles and Zoe Jolley, Linda and Randy Goins; uncles, Tim (Nikki) Jolley, Jason Kennedy, Matthew Jolley, and Bruce Williams; cousins, Wade Jolley and Annslea Jolley; and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the Dade County High School Gym with Brother Eddie Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Vice Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-8PM Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the funeral home and from 1-3PM Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the Dade County High School.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Trenton First Baptist Building Fund.

Jerry Graves

BRYANT -- Jerry Wayne Graves, 66, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010.

He was a loving husband, father, papa, and brother, a resident of Bryant for 57 years, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Graves was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Flossie Graves; infant son, Jerry Len Graves; brother, Sam William Graves.

Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Cartha Graves of Bryant; daughters and son-in-law, Carla Graves, and Mashonda and Mike Taylor; sister, Doris Davidson, all of Bryant; one grandchild, Keisha Gant; nieces and nephews; a host of friends.

Funeral services 4:30 p.m. EST Thursday in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home with brothers Glenn Thomas and David Higdon officiating.

Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation today noon-9 p.m. EST and Thursday 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. EST.

Arrangements are by Moore Funeral Home, Bryant.

Mary Lou Ball

FLAT ROCK -- Mary Lou Ball, 93, died Monday, March 1, 2010, at Dade Health and Rehab.

Survivors include daughter, Dorothy Williamson, Cedartown, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Marcine Ball, Pisgah; son, Jimmy Carl Ball, Flat Rock; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ball was preceded in death by parents, John and Alice Howard Austin; husband, Harry Lee Ball; son, John N. Ball; grandson, Terry Lee White; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Ball; son-in-law, Woody Williamson; sisters, Irene House, Gertrude Wilkerson; brothers, Bryan Austin, Guy Austin, Horace Austin and Howard Austin.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 4, at 2 p.m. CST at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with the Rev. J. Edmon Stallings officiating.

Burial in Beulah Chapel Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. CST today and 11 am until service time.

Verley Smith

TRENTON -- Verley Harverd Smith, 73, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010.

He was employed by Volvo of Chattanooga as a mechanic. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Higdon, Ala.

He was preceded in death by his father; three brothers, and a sister.

He is survived by wife, Arbutice Smith, Trenton; one daughter, Cheryl Morgan, Trenton; two sons, Tony (Angel) Smith, Washington, D.C., Barry (Lori) Smith, Nashville; mother, Vallie Mae Smith, Trenton; four sisters; five grandchildren, Christie, Ashley, Amanda, Zethan, Whitney; six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. EST Thursday in the Ryan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Smith and the Rev. Eric Woods officiating.

Interment will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends 2-9 p.m. today and noon until service time on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Hutcheson Hospice.

Arrangements are by Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton.

Donna McBryar

TRENTON — Donna McBryar, 85, passed away Monday, March 1, 2010.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She attended Gib-Dock Church and Woodlawn Baptist Church.

Mrs. McBryar was preceded in death by her loving husband, Verdell McBryar; parents, Oscar and Doris Wilkenson.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara McBryar; son and daughter-in-law, Verdell Jr. and Pat McBryar, all of Trenton; sisters, Dixie Curtis, of Bethlehem, Ga., and Diona Pike of Bryant, Ala.; brother and sister-in-law, Doyle and Gladys Wilkinson, of Rossville; four grandchildren, Rusty (Buffy) McBryar, Tim (Katie) McBryar, Brooke (Lebron) Jones and Brandi (Jonathan) Hibbs; sister-in-law, Shirley (Mark) Cloud; brother-in-law, Hershal (Gail) McBryar, both, of Trenton; eight grandchildren, Jasmine McBryar, Taylor Jones, Taylor Hibbs, Jacob McBryar, Annsleigh Jones, Zachary Hibbs, Davis McBryar and Brennan Hibbs; nieces and nephews; host of friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. EST Thursday in the Moore Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Wooten officiating.

Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation Wednesday 2 p.m.-9 p.m. Thursday 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
